Design, then code
The record, read in order. 2023 — 2025.
The record runs from design to code. It begins in Addis Ababa in late 2023 with a graphic design programme at And-Hulet Creatives, and continues there as a design internship until February 2024: notebooks, project boards for the national-level Gebeta Lehager projects, Bulbula and Halala among them, and engraving for leather products, under experienced architects and designers.
The software engineering degree at Bahir Dar University ran alongside, from 2021 to 2025. From June to August 2024 an internship at Qene Technologies produced DotCode, a platform for managing code snippets and UI components, which has its own document in Work.
Through 2025 the two lines met at one employer. At Fair Prop Reviewer the roles ran graphic designer, then Next.js developer, then full-stack developer. The degree finished in June 2025, with the Faculty of Computing’s Best Project Award.
